Roberto Soldado: Move to Spurs still on the cards
Talks are ongoing between Tottenham and Valencia over the transfer of striker Roberto Soldado, Sky sources understand.
Spurs
manager Andre Villas-Boas has made Soldado one of his top targets over
the summer but is yet to seal the deal. The La Liga side are understood
to be holding out for £25.8m, a fee
that would trigger a release clause in the 28-year-old's contract.
Valencia coach Miroslav Djukic has already admitted he is resigned to
losing Soldado though and Spurs remain favourites to land the coveted
striker.
Soldado
would become Tottenham's third summer signing if he does make the move
to White Hart Lane. Brazilian midfielder Paulinho was the first to
arrive after he signed
from Corinthians for £17m, while Belgian winger Nacer Chadli arrived
from FC Twente for around £7m on 21 July.
